Accident claims for foot injury compensation
Although they are probably not the first things you think might get injured in an accident, a surprising number of clients come to Camps after injuring their feet in some way. Injuring your feet can have a big impact on your mobility and your ability to work; if this is the case then making a personal injury compensation claim might be something worth thinking about.
Foot injuries can happen in a variety of circumstances, including accidents at work, road traffic accidents and trips, slips and falls. The injuries can be caused in a number of different ways; you might have something dropped on your foot in an accident at work, or you might be involved in a car crash where you are left with broken bones. Even a minor slip or trip on a wet floor might leave you with soft tissue damage to the ligaments in your feet, which can restrict your movement and make doing everyday tasks painful.
The amount of compensation you could expect to receive for an injury to your feet will vary depending on several factors. These include, obviously, the severity of the injury, whether your injury affected both feet and whether your injury is likely to be permanent. Other factors that have some influence on the likely level of accident compensation include the way in which your injury was caused, the length of time taken to recover and whether you will make a full or partial recovery.
Common compensation amounts for foot injuries
To give you a rough idea of the figures of compensation awarded to people who have suffered injuries to their feet, here are some figures from the Judicial Studies Board guidelines, which reflect the amounts usually awarded in court settlements.
At the lower end of the scale, straightforward foot injuries such as lacerations, fractures and contusions which you completely recover from in a short space of time would usually attract compensation under £4,000. Moderate foot injuries, such as displaced fractures and injuries which leave you with continuing symptoms would usually be awarded somewhere between £4000 and £16000 compensation. Serious injuries, such as burns and disfiguring scars would receive compensation somewhere around £16000 to £25000.

Talk about tough times in a recession.
Hartlepool has been given only £2 million to cover the costs of compensation claims issued in the region, because of damage or injury caused by faulty roads.
The whopping £2,210,000 was spent on covering the various associated costs related to damage done by flagged paving and potholes. The worst culprit was found to be due to paving problems with the claims associated adding up to a hard to conceal £1,300,000 spanning over 731 claims.
However, the problem worsens. The local council have only been given £million to carry out maintenance work, despite the overall total reaching £20million. On top of that, the back log of compensation claims will only make financial matters worse. Ouch!
