Researchers say Hollywood blockbusters are bad example for kids
According to a report published by the American Center for Disease Control and Prevention, Hollywood blockbuster films undermine accident prevention advice by encouraging bad habits and dangerous activities.

Only half of motorways reach road accident safety standard according to report
The majority of England’s roads are failing to reach the top safety rating, according to a report by the Road Safety Foundation – the UK arm of the European Road Assessment Programme. The study found that many stretches of motorways and major A-roads across the country do not have adequate protection for drivers who run off the road.

An aviation company has been fined by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) after an accident at work that left one of its employees unable to work for more than two years.

New safety campaign to reduce accidents involving transporting loads

1,200 injuries could be prevented
Eight days of spot checks at locations across North West England are planned as part of a new campaign focussed on reducing the number of deaths and injuries linked to the transport of loads. The campaign will see officers from the Health and Safety Executive and Vehicle Operator Services Agency inspecting the loads of vehicles that have been pulled over at random.

Average speed cameras launched in London to reduce car accidents

Authorities hoping for cut in road traffic accidents on major A-road
New cameras designed to measure a motorist’s average speed across long stretches of road are to be installed on a stretch of the A13 in east London, it has been announced.
