Scottish police speeding crackdown to cut accidents

Fine for not wearing seatbelt doubled to £60

From today motorists and passengers face fines of £60 as a deterrent for minor safety offences

100% increase to fines for not wearing a seat belt

After research revealed that 3 in 10 back seat passengers do not wear a seat belt the UK government has responded by raising the fine for those caught travelling without a belt from £30 to £60 pounds.
