What will my arm injury get me in compensation?

Arm injury compensation claims advice from Camps Solicitors

As the week draws to a close, so to do this week’s series of blogs on some common injuries that our clients have suffered and the likely levels of compensation these injuries would get if their claims are successful.  Today arm injuries go under the microscope, with the help of the Judicial Studies Board figures, to give you a rough idea of what your arm injury claim might be worth.

Minor arm injury: in the region of £4,000

You could quite easily suffer a minor arm injury, such as a fracture, as a result of a car crash, an accident at work or a bad slip or trip.  Based on the guidelines produced by the JSB, a simple arm fracture could be worth somewhere in the region of £4,000.  Precisely how much would depend on the length of time taken to recover from your injuries and whether you were left with any lasting deformity or disability.

Moderately severe arm injury: £12,250 – £25,000

A moderately severe arm injury is categorised as an injury where you have largely recovered but where you might be left with significant disability, that is to say you would only be able to use your arm to a limited extent.  We would expect to recover compensation somewhere around the £12,250 to £25,000 level for our clients who have a moderately severe arm injury, although the total compensation might also include money to cover any earnings you lost as a result of the accident, amongst other things.

Serious arm injury: £25,000 – £83,500

In case involving more serious arm injuries such as fractures to both arms we would expect to recover between £25,000 and £38,250 compensation for your claim.  The higher end of the scale for arm injury compensation, involving injuries which fall short of an amputation but which nevertheless leave you little better off than if your arm had been amputated, would be worth in the region of £61,500 to £83,500.
