Planned safety improvements for a stretch of the A166 road in Yorkshire have been scaled back due to cash shortages in the City of York transport budget.
The road had been due to receive a comprehensive package of measures including installing traffic islands in the centre of the road between the carriageways, road widening and new road markings. The measures were designed to reduce the level of accidents on this stretch of road, known locally as an accident black spot. A revised plan will see the road receive only the new double white line road markings.
Compensation claims for accidents at ‘black spots’

Our solicitors and legal staff have experience of handling all types of road accident claims, from those only involving minor injuries or damage to property, right up to fatal accidents, or incidents leading to severe permanent injuries.
As soon as you contact Camps, we will start work on your accident claim. As well as visiting you at home (or another convenient place) to help you with the paperwork for your claim, we may also send out our agents to the black spot where you had your accident to record the scene.
