Possible accident claim for man shot with Taser gun
A man shot in the groin by a 50,000-volt Taser gun is considering making a personal injury claim against the police.
Peter Cox was accidently shot after being pulled over on suspicion of driving without insurance in Bridgwater in Somerset.
The police said he “appeared to become aggressive”, resulting in one of the officers drawing his stun gun, which accidently went off as he was lowering it.
Mr Cox has commented that “I may be able to sue the force and get compensation,” adding that “Tasering people like that… [is] totally out of order.”
Avon and Somerset Police confirmed that a man had been pulled over and that a Taser was “accidentally discharged”.
They added that they are looking into the incident.
