Camps Solicitors have successfully recovered compensation for a pedestrian hit by a car in Birkenhead town centre. Miss L, the victim, had her case dealt with by Associate Solicitor Ged Jones, one of the firm’s most experienced road traffic accident solicitors. The case was a success and Miss L received over £14,500 in compensation for the multiple injuries she sustained.
The accident took place as Miss L was crossing Chester Street in Birkenhead on Christmas Eve 2003. As she was halfway across the road, a Toyota Yaris approached from round a corner and hit Miss L, knocking her to the ground. Miss L‘s ankle was broken and she suffered a cut to the back of her head as well as concussion and bruising. She was taken to hospital to receive treatment for her ankle and head injuries.
Camps Solicitors took on Miss L’s case and assigned Ged Jones the task of recovering compensation that would accurately reflect the injuries she had suffered. Eyewitnesses were interviewed and a medical report was prepared on Miss L’s injuries. Whilst Miss L was recovering from her injuries Ged Jones took care of the negotiations with the insurance company of the other driver.
Miss L’s claim was successful, and after the case had been completed, her solicitor, Ged Jones, made a few comments about the case:
“My client sustained a serious ankle injury on Christmas Eve which not only ruined the festive period but also had a great impact upon her lifestyle in the longer term. The injury made my client’s job as a nurse difficult to perform as she was on her feet for most of the day. She was also conscious of her scarring and was unable to wear certain shoes.
The insurance company for the other party denied responsibility from the outset. It was only when court proceedings were issued that they agreed to settle my client`s claim. I was pleased that I was able to achieve a good result for my client in this case.”
