Health and Safety Executive launches new workplace safety campaign

The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) has launched a new campaign highlighting the risks of slips, trips and falls in the workplace – and the impact they have both in terms of deaths and injuries to the workforce, but also the financial implications for employers.  Last year alone, there were 61 deaths and 14,000 serious injuries caused by slips, trips or falls from height in British workplaces, costing the economy around £700 million.

The “Shattered Lives” workplace safety campaign aims to bring about a reduction in these shocking figures, and the second phase, concentrating on slips, trips and falls in particular, was launched this week by the HSE.  An interactive learning package called STEP has been launched on the HSE website that provides practical guidance to employers and employees on tackling the risks of slips, trips and falls in their workplaces.

At Camps Solicitors we work on behalf of the victims of slips, trips and falls at work to make sure that where their accident was the fault of their employers, or an unsafe system of work, they claim compensation for any injuries they have suffered.  In particular, our solicitors deal with claims from people working in the seven industries which have the highest incidences of slipping, tripping and falling injuries.  These industries are food retail, catering and hospitality, food and drink manufacturing, building and plant maintenance, construction, healthcare and education; however a slip, trip or fall at work can occur in any workplace.

If you have been injured as a result of a slip, trip or fall at work, and you believe the accident could have been prevented by either your employer or your colleagues, then Camps Solicitors may be able to help.  Our workplace accident solicitors will look at all aspects of your accident, including testimony from witnesses and expert evidence, to make sure nothing is missed.  We have over 25 years experience working on behalf of workplace accident victims to secure them the compensation they deserve.
