For cases of tinnitus caused by exposure to noise at work, typical compensation payouts to claimants would be in the region of £4,750 to £19,000. The top end of this range would be paid out for cases where the tinnitus was constant, and seriously affected the sufferer’s ability to lead a normal life.
Partial hearing loss compensation – £19,000 to £29,000
A claim for compensation involving partial hearing loss and very severe tinnitus would usually receive somewhere between £19,000 and £29,000. Claims for partial hearing loss compensation depend greatly on the age of the person making the claim, because hearing loss affects most people eventually, which will have an impact on the amount of compensation someone might receive.
Serious hearing loss compensation – £19,000 to £29,000
More serious cases of hearing loss, such as total loss of hearing in one ear, or cases of hearing loss where there are additional symptoms such as dizziness and headaches, might also fall into the £19,000 to £29,000 bracket as well. The top level of hearing loss compensation would usually only be paid out in cases where the injury had occurred very early on in a person’s life, and where it had affected their ability to speak, or had stopped them from learning how to speak.
